QUOTE:
"Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored."
- Earl Nightingale
INSPIRATION:
I love this verse because it talks about the now, the present, the only thing that is real in our lives. I have witnessed too many people who have put their life on hold waiting for some magical event that will make them happy, or are living in the past when they perceived that life was better. Both of those locations are lethal because they rob you the most important the “now”. In reality, that is all we ever have, this moment in time, where we get to choose what we will do with it. We have people in our lives that we can choose to spend our time with. Making memories is a gift that stays with us and brings us joy at a future date.
ACTION:
What are you doing today that will be a good memory with your family?
Realize it doesn’t have to be expensive or expansive. Some of the greatest memories are the small things in our daily lives. Picnicking on the living room floor, playing a game with the family, cooking a meal all together, taking a walk around the neighborhood as a family, there are numerous possibilities available. The operative thing is not what you do but that you do it as a family. Build family time into your schedule, guard it from the daily hustle and bustle that seems to rob us of this time.
